Online group classes

Live yoga classes in a small group, to build a regular practice from home. “Wherever you are is the entry point.” (Kabir)

The class

We practise together live, by video call. Classes draw on Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, and every class follows the same structure: chanting, asana practice, a properly guided savasana and pranayama (breath work).

Who it suits

  • You are new to yoga, or you already know the basics
  • You don’t have time to commute and get to a studio
  • You want a regular practice, once, twice or three times a week
  • You like moving forward with a group
  • You don’t want to practise with YouTube videos: you need a teacher’s motivation and guidance

What happens in a class

You join the video call from home with your camera on. We always start on time, out of respect for everyone’s schedule. I guide the practice and watch you so that I can give live feedback. I don’t mention names, so everyone can check their own alignment and no one feels singled out. I always offer variations so that each pose suits your body.

Groups are capped at ten people. That is a choice: a small group stays focused, and everyone is seen. Between classes, students stay in touch in a WhatsApp group. You can stay after the class to ask questions.

Group class times

The usual times for the online group classes. A class runs when at least two people join, with ten people at most. Write to me before your first class and I will explain how to join.

Your first online class

A few pointers so that you feel at ease from the very first session.

Example camera position, seen through a laptop webcam: Laura in a warrior pose on her mat at home, visible from head to feet
  1. What you need

A yoga mat is enough to start. A cushion or a folded blanket can help you sit comfortably for the grounding meditation. Wear clothes you can move in freely. You can bring your own props (blocks or a bolster). I rarely mention them during class, because I try to help you feel that your body is capable on its own. But if you feel more comfortable with them, feel free to use them :)

  2. Your space

Choose a quiet spot where you can stretch your arms and legs in every direction without touching anything.

  3. Your camera

Place your computer or tablet in front of you, a few steps from your mat, so that I can see all of you, from head to feet. That is how I can guide you best.

  4. If you are new

Nobody arrives flexible. I offer options for every pose, and you can rest at any time. Before your first class, tell me about any injury or particular situation.

From students

  • I’ve tried quite a few yoga classes, and Laura’s are my favourite. Her approach is complete, clear and free of frills. It lets you refocus on yourself while spending an hour deeply connected to her and to the group, even at a distance. She knows how to adapt to every level, so that everyone finds what they need and can progress, gently and joyfully.
